Case grammar is a system of linguistic analysis that focuses on the link between the valence, or number of subjects, objects, etc., of a verb and the necessary grammatical context. This theory analyzes the surface syntactic structure of sentences by studying the combination of deep cases that are required by a specific verb. Each verb selects a certain number of deep cases that make up its case frame. These case frames are subject to some constraints. Some cases are mandatory and others are optional. Obligatory cases may not be removed, since doing so can produce ungrammatical sentences. This book brings forth some of the most innovative concepts and elucidates the unexplored aspects of case grammar theory. It provides comprehensive insights into this field. For all readers who are interested in case grammar theory, this book will serve as an excellent guide to develop a comprehensive understanding.
